1. Chemical composition (See technical data sheet).

2. Applications:Moulds for high-in-demand plastics, high-strength inserts for moulds that are subject to wear caused by abrasion.All types of cutting tools, for instance, stamps for cutting plastics and sheet metal of up to 6 mm in width, and tools for threading.Wear strips.

3. Supply conditions:230 HB>775 N/mm2 is recognized as the maximum.For large-scale moulds it is recommended to wait to temper and harden until after pre-grinding.

4. Steel types (See technical data sheet).With regard to tempering:Steels of greater thickness should be tempered at 800-820ºC and those with a thickness of up 50 mm can be tempered completely. Hot-water tempering should only be used for steel with a thickness of 35 mm.

5. Tempering diagram:Values measured in specimens of Ø 20 x 50-mm long, tempered in oil at 800ºC. N/mm2 and HB, converted in each case from HRC.

Applications

High-speed steel. High degree of hardness and wear resistance, excellent tenacity, strong resistance to pressure given that deformation is slight, nitridable after special treatment. Well suited to the cutting of austenitic steels: circular blades and shears. Tools for cold drawing, intricate cuts and subject to breaks, threaded rods and roller bearings, dies and pressure taps, miller cutters, broaches, etc.

C45+N

The use of a stabiliser is recommended to avoid stresses caused by the oxyacetylene cutting.

Use:

For the construction of moulds and mould carriers, large-scale parts, support plates, guides, high-resistance machine components, and hydraulic blocks. Agricultural machinery and machine parts subject to little wear. This steel tempers well and can be used in parts tempered by induction that require 55 HRC surface hardness. For instance, it can be used in guides and slides for any type of machine tools.

TX-33

Applications

A new tempered and hardened steel. With a high-impact tenacity and low residual stresses, it offers good dimensional stability. Despite its hardness, 35 HRC, it is easy to machine. With tough resistance to high temperatures, it is appropriate for stamping, plastic and rubber moulding tools, and for pressure casting, as well as for sheet metal folding and bending tools. Suitable for machine components, parts that wear, guide rails, high-temperature applications, etc.

TX-44

Applications

TX-44 Tool Steel. A new tempered and hardened steel. With high-impact tenacity and low residual stresses, it offers good dimensional stability. Despite its hardness, up to 45 HRC, it is easy to machine. With tough resistance to high temperatures it is appropriate for stamping, plastic and rubber moulding tools, and for pressure casting, as well as for sheet metal folding and bending tools. Suitable for machine components, parts that wear, guide rails, high-temperature applications, etc.
