Carbon Steel

Multi-purpose carbon steel, with different alloys suitable for a wide range of uses, from machinery to tools.

F-1

Applications

Highly weldable steel due to low carbon content. It can be used as case hardening steel, for resilient thermoformed components, for lightweight machinery components that require high tenacity and low-resistance parts subject to cold deformation: screws, nails, hardware, etc.

F-112

Allows for cold deformation, drawing, folding, etc. It is weldable.

1. Use:Machine parts that require minimal responsibility. Medium-resistance, high-tenacity parts.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

F-113

Steel is hardenable and can be welded using the resistance welding technique.

1. Use:Necessary machine parts.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

F-114

Hardens well, care should be taken with deformations. Can be subjected to heat treatment in order to improve mechanical characteristics. Normalised for minimum-responsibility parts.

1. Use:High-resistance machine parts and components, like: axles, sleeves, stamped parts, struts, etc.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

F-115

Low-thickness steel hardens well in oil, while high-thickness steel hardens best in water.

1. Use:Axles, driving gears, etc. Regularly loaded parts with moderate levels of thickness. Used in the manufacturing of agricultural tools.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

ST52.3

Tensile strength at room temperature and necking limit, ideal conditions for tooling. Suitable for resistance welding and gas pressure welding given that its carbon equivalent is fairly low. If normalized, it is ideal for cold forming.

1. Use:Superstructures, hydraulic works, machine building, bridge construction, tanks.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

High-Alloy Steel

High-alloy steels perfect for tooling and automotive parts.

34CrNiMo6

Applications

Components that can be subjected to high and low temperatures and that are always in high demand in the maritime, energy, machine-tool and railway sectors (high hardenability). Generally used with resistances between 1000 and 1200 MPa. High creep resistance and good mechanical stability at any temperature. For drive-shafts, crankshafts, cylinder liners, etc.

F-1252

Does well with surface hardening.

1. Use:For medium resistance parts, low-thickness machine and motor parts, which must have high resistance and high tenacity, crankshafts, axles, etc.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

F-1272

High resistance to creep. Very high hardenability.

1. Use:For very high resistance and responsibility parts, crankshafts, axles, rods, etc. For parts that deal with bending, torsion and impact, etc. Artillery.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

Case Hardening Steel

Easily machined case hardening alloy steel which is susceptible to achieving a tough surface layer, combined with a highly resistant core. Responds well to welding and oxyacetylene welding due to its low carbon content; however, in certain instances and for extra thick steels, lightly pre-heating the steel is recommended.

17CrNiMo6/18CrNiMo7-6

High hardenability. For case hardened steel parts with a core resistance of up to 150 Kg/mm2.

1. Use:For the manufacturing of large case hardened steel parts with very high resistance and surface hardness. High-responsibility engine and machine parts.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

F-1522

Good machinability, but susceptible to deformation due to low hardenability.

1. Use:For the manufacturing of small case hardened steel parts requiring little responsibility and in which high tenacity in the nucleus is not necessary.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

F-1540

For case hardened steel parts with core resistance of 85-125 Kg/mm2.

1. Use:For the manufacturing of parts with a high surface hardness, average resistance and high tenacity core. Motoring parts, gears, cams, etc.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

F-1550

For case hardened steel parts with a core resistance of 75-130 Kg/mm2.

1. Use:For parts with very hard surfaces and average resistance. Gears, cams, crowns and general parts that will need to withstand high amounts of friction.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

F-158 Mo

For case hardened steel parts with a core resistance of 90-140 Kg/mm2. Weldable if preheated.

1. Use:For medium- thickness parts subjected to shear stress and impact and which require a hard surface and a high-tenacity core. For gears of all kinds.

2. Delivery status (See technical data sheet).

3. Average chemical composition in % (See technical data sheet).

Tool Steel

1.2379 / F-521

Applications

High-speed steel. High degree of hardness and wear resistance, excellent tenacity, strong resistance to pressure given that deformation is slight, nitridable after special treatment. Well suited to the cutting of austenitic steels: circular blades and shears. Tools for cold drawing, intricate cuts and susceptible to breaks, threaded rods and roller bearings, dies and pressure taps, milling cutter, broaches, etc. Deformation-resistant steel for cold work

1.2842 / F-522

Applications

Cut steel. Easily machinable, good cutting performance, high tenacity, deformation is slight, simple heat treatment. Stamping and cutting tools of all kinds: die chasers and taps, drills, calibres, measuring tools, irons for cutting wire, moulds for plastic, rubber, drawing dies, etc.

TX-33

Applications

A new tempered and hardened steel. With a high-impact tenacity and low residual stresses, it offers good dimensional stability. Despite its hardness, 35 HRC, it is easy to machine. With tough resistance to high temperatures, it is appropriate for stamping, plastic and rubber moulding tools, and for pressure casting, as well as for sheet metal folding and bending tools. Suitable for machine components, parts that wear, guide rails, high-temperature applications, etc.

TX-44
